Repeat Offense: Black skinnies and striped top

It’s a Sunday morning, the sun is out and you’re dying to wear a cami/duster/sandal type of thing but alas it’s still April and despite the glorious sunshine it is still fucking cold outside. I spent at least half an hour nagging my boyfriend what to wear (oh how he puts up with me, I don’t know) and bashing every suggestion he made to the ground, basically because everything he suggested was a variation of something I wore on the blog before.

Granted, I wear black skinny jeans 90% of the time. But this particular outfit I settled with was so close to the previous one, I felt like it was not worth blogging about it. I was initially going to wear my trusty Mango ankle boots but figured switching things up at least a little bit would make things a little more interesting. In come these Zara ankle boots with stirrups I got early 2013. I wore them to shreds then stored them in the repairs bag until I finally dragged my ass to the cobbler’s. The diagnosis? They needed resoling, the whole shebang. €25 later, they’re back to being my favourite black go-to shoes.

Not to toot my own horn or anything, but my hair was pretty fabulous that day.
*Pro tip: Layering a tank under your top will protect you from the cold and all, but it does not protect you from looking 5 months pregnant because of the fabric of your top pulling at awkward places.

This was when the lady that lives in the building behind me came out looking very annoyed that we were shooting pictures in front of her door (well actually it’s not her door because I’m pretty sure the building is protected heritage) so we decided to fuck off. We had lunch, went to the DIY store to get glue to fix the ceiling vent in the shower (we drilled and ductaped to no avail, this place is crumbling down yo!) hit a few stores as part of my bikini quest and shot some more pictures of which only 5 were remotely in focus and unfortunately they were all taken the moment I was going all “HAAAYY!!” as I saw a friend passing by and I wanted to spare you guys of major derp face (okay I just wanted to save myself the humiliation of major derp face) so I cropped the picture. Smooth move, am I right?

Not mastered the blogger faux-walk pose yet, mainly because I was actually walking and I hear you’re not supposed to if you want to achieve the desired effect.

Also I appear to be holding rather than wearing my scarf in all of these pictures. Oops. As I said, my camera’s been having a hard time focussing, add to that me being not very photogenic and you get about a 5% success rate. I’m hoping to raise that number to about 30% by finally getting a new camera. I made a deal with myself that I can get one (that, and I can go wild at the new H&M Home store that’s opening Saturday!) if I manage to tidy up the house by the end of the month. Spring clean, you know. Which reminds me I have to get to Ikea soon for more storage and shit.

And meatballs. You gotta have some meatballs.

Laterz!

Pretty Sharp, a no-fuss beauty blog
Look, I get it. No one really reads beauty blogs anymore. But just like Gretchen just won't stop trying to make fetch happen, I won't ever give up on the written medium. Because there is just so much more to good makeup, skincare and fragrance than how they look as a prop in a photograph.

At Pretty Sharp you'll find honest beauty reviews, news bits along with occasional fashion/style/personal related articles. No clickbait. No bullshit
