Suave in all black

Hey peeps! Stopping by for a pic dump! Yesterday my guy and I enjoyed a day off together (we don’t have a lot of those), running some errands, soaking up the unusually warm January sunshine in the meantime.

All black appeared to be extremely difficult to shoot and frankly when I edited the pictures on my macbook I thought they turned out fine but looking at them on a very old Acer screen at work, I’m starting to question the point of posting these. BUT HERE WE GO ANYWAY:

But also a little introspective…

It was windy and I struggled…

And then I got bored.

I’m wearing a new blouse from & Other Stories that I picked up in the sale. I had been on the lookout for a nice, preferably silk, oversized blouse with chest pockets for a casual flair but no shoulder details because I didn’t want that military vibe. That’s very specific.

I settled for this almost-perfect modal version for €33 and frankly I’m glad I did. The fabric doesn’t seem to pick up smell like a lot of synthetic fabrics do (I have a shirt from Mango I can wear once before having to wash it again even when I didn’t break a single sweat), and it’s got this chalky sheen to it like cupro has which is better than silk that ends up losing its shine (heartbreak!)

Between life being expensive as fuck, the social, ethic and environmental issues inevitably tied to fast fashion, and the KonMari method, I’ve been trying to scale down and live with less – You know just like everyone else and their dogs these days. Instead, I’ve been (successfully!) focusing on my art. I started a Society6 page, meaning I’m looking at beautiful artwork all day, which is inspiring and challenging.
