Yesterday’s Muse

GUYS. I have emerged from the shadows! Or maybe that’s the wrong way to put it considering I shot these pictures in the dark, in front of my crooked Ikea-wardrobe. With the timer. A girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, am I right?

So I’ve been away for a while, and as you can probably tell from these pictures I lost a lot of weight. I’ve gone through some dark times, struggling with my recurring fear of failure, sending me into a downward spiral of bleh. But I’m back and probably better than ever (I just have to pick up going to the gym again because I lost my rock hard abs, boo)!

Other than that I’ve been doing a lot of painting, which wasn’t my medium until therapy pushed me to further explore my artistic skills. Abstract paintings, whether geometric or very organic, are my jam. I’ll be collecting pictures and scans to form a neat little portfolio-esque thing soon, and sporadically I throw some stuff on my instagram, too.

But on to the outfit! I ordered this insane velvet blazer off of Zalando, one of the few places that sells Free People (fave!). When I look in the mirror, I’m not sure if I should keep it, but when I look at these pictures I’m like GURL WHAT ARE YOU THINKING OF COURSE YOU’RE KEEPING IT. I threw this together because I might have a fancy party to go to soon and I was seriously lacking in the nighttime outfits department. Unfortunately you can’t see my shoes, a pair of high wedges from AllSaints with a delightful Ann-De-Meulemeester-in-2010 vibe. I feel pretty glam-goth in this, and I must say it doesn’t feel wrong.

Short and sweet is what I had in mind for this post, so off I go, back into the shadows (and my jammies). Laters, peeps!

Pretty Sharp, a no-fuss beauty blog
Look, I get it. No one really reads beauty blogs anymore. But just like Gretchen just won't stop trying to make fetch happen, I won't ever give up on the written medium. Because there is just so much more to good makeup, skincare and fragrance than how they look as a prop in a photograph.

At Pretty Sharp you'll find honest beauty reviews, news bits along with occasional fashion/style/personal related articles. No clickbait. No bullshit
